What we don’t always see: Lou and Ash on life with MS

In our latest People at the Heart podcast episode, Natalie Joyce is joined by Lou Clarke and Ashley Stimpson-Evans from RebuildCostASSESSMENT.com for a personal conversation about life with multiple sclerosis, often known as MS. Lou talks about her own experience of living with MS, while Ashley shares how the condition has affected people close to him.
It’s an open conversation that touches on hidden conditions, the importance of listening, and the difference that small moments of understanding can make at work and in everyday life.
Rather than trying to explain every aspect of MS, the episode gives Lou and Ashley the space to share their own perspectives in their own words. Their experiences are personal to them, but the themes will be familiar to many: family, work, wellbeing, support and learning when to ask for help.
The People at the Heart series was created to share the stories and experiences of colleagues across RiskSTOP Group. Some episodes are light-hearted; others cover more serious subjects. This one is a thoughtful reminder that people can be dealing with things that are not always visible on the surface.
Thank you to Lou and Ashley for speaking so openly.
