RiskSTOP Group is partnering with the University of Exeter’s Green Futures Solutions team to strengthen its approach to sustainability, gaining a clearer picture of where emissions occur and how to cut them across the business.

This partnership builds on long-standing values. For RiskSTOP Group, protecting people and businesses has always gone hand-in-hand with thinking about the bigger picture. Whether it’s risk, regulation or the environment, the way we work has always been guided by responsibility, and this project brings that mindset into sharper focus.

Working with Green Futures Solutions brings science and strategy into our daily operations. The first phase of the work is about laying the groundwork: collecting data, analysing how we use energy, and understanding the emissions linked to things like heating, transport and infrastructure. All of this feeds into a practical plan to reduce carbon and boost efficiency.

“We’re not just looking inward. We’re thinking about our role in the wider ecosystem,” said Natalie Joyce, Head of Sustainability at RiskSTOP Group. “Home to more of the world’s top climate scientists than any other city, the University of Exeter brings deep academic expertise and hands-on insight. That combination will help us make meaningful progress.”

The next phase will take things further, exploring emissions tied to our supply chain, business travel, and other indirect impacts. Alongside this, we’re also looking at biodiversity, nature-based solutions, and what a full Climate Transition Plan could look like.

It’s a shift towards doing more of what matters: using evidence to make better decisions, acting with purpose, and being accountable for the impact we have, not just now, but into the future.

While this is an important milestone, it’s not a one-off. RiskSTOP Group will be sharing more updates as the project develops, offering insights into what we’re learning and how it’s shaping our future thinking.
