On Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August, a team of 20 from RiskSTOP Group took on a challenge that was as unusual as it was impressive: pulling a Boeing 737 weighing 35,000kg across 50 metres at Bournemouth Airport.
The team gave it a good go and managed to smash it out in just 29.9 seconds! The effort was in aid of our charity partner, Autism Unlimited, which exists to empower and support those living with autism.
Making a difference, together
So far, the Plane Pull has raised £5,208. The funds will go towards a range of projects at Autism Unlimited’s Portfield School. These include an in-ground trampoline to promote wellbeing and play, upgrades to the therapy pool changing rooms used daily by students and local swimming groups, and Early Years Autism Workshops designed to give parents the knowledge and confidence to support their children.
Natalie Joyce, Head of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at RiskSTOP Group, said, “The Plane Pull was an unforgettable experience. Seeing colleagues come together, give up their Bank Holiday and put in such effort for a cause close to our hearts was something special.”

Autism Unlimited’s work across the South of England makes a tangible difference to children, families and local communities. Taking part in events like this is one of the ways RiskSTOP Group continues to support and strengthen the partnership.
Continuing support
We are grateful to everyone who donated, cheered on the team, or helped make the day possible. While the plane has been pulled, we will continue to support Autsim Unlimited throughout our partnership with them.
