As the year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a quarter filled with giving back, supporting local communities, and making a difference. From promoting neurodiversity to raising funds for critical causes, here’s a look at how we wrapped up the final months of 2024.
A look back at autism unlimited partnership
In October, we announced a key partnership with Autism Unlimited, committing to supporting their crucial work with autistic children, adults, and their families. Since then, this collaboration has continued to flourish.
Earlier this month, Natalie Joyce and Abbie Davis from RiskSTOP Group participated in mock interviews with Autism Unlimited’s ‘Futures’ learners, helping to prepare them for real-life scenarios. Futures is a bespoke programme empowering young adults aged 18–25 to develop essential skills and independence.
Natalie Joyce said, “It’s been a privilege to see how Futures supports young people in achieving their goals. Thank you to the staff for inviting us to contribute and the incredible learners who made the experience so rewarding.”
“It was a fantastic experience for our learners and a great opportunity to gain important skills to help them feel more confident and prepared in their employment search,” said Angie Lawrence, Education Lead at Autism Unlimited.
In addition to our ongoing support, a £500 donation was made towards playground renovations, helping to create an incredible space for learning, play and joy.
Giving a gift of joy with Dorchester Family Support
This holiday season, RiskSTOP Group partnered with Dorchester Family Support to bring joy to families in need. Staff participated in the ‘Giving Tree’ initiative, selecting tags with the ages of children and purchasing gifts to match. It was a simple yet impactful way to spread kindness and ensure every child has a reason to smile this Christmas.
Supporting mental health with Movember and Samaritans
November saw our colleagues grow moustaches and host bake sales, raising an incredible £2,072 for Movember, a global movement addressing men’s health issues. The enthusiasm and generosity of the team showcased their commitment to supporting mental health and wellness.
We also sponsored the 2025 Samaritans calendar, featuring beautiful, sustainable designs. Proceeds will directly support Weymouth Samaritans’ vital work in our community.
Sunflower trail success – a record-breaking year
Building on our involvement highlighted in our last charity update, we can now share that the Maiden Castle Farm Sunflower Trail raised an astonishing £16,300 for the Dorset County Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Appeal this year.
Over the past four years, the Hoskin family’s trail has raised a remarkable £63,000 for the hospital. RiskSTOP Group and RebuildCostASSESSMENT.com are proud to have contributed by sponsoring sculptures, enhancing the experience for all who attended.
Looking ahead
As 2024 comes to an end, we are proud of the contributions we’ve made to vital causes throughout the year. From supporting our local community to enhancing the lives of those in need, RiskSTOP Group has and will continue to put people at the heart of everything we do.
